Do not judge a book by its cover so if you are doing some house hunting, avoid doing that. When house hunting, be sure to avoid certain things.
Say no to a damp home.
A common problem for old houses is that it becomes damp. You can identify if the house is damp by the smell as soon as you get inside a room. But sometimes the owner would hide that problem by lighting candles or spraying something that will mask the smell. This can cause you to be unable to smell the bad odor. When you face up at the ceiling or walls, if you see patches, damp will be the reason for that. But that can be easily covered by paint and plaster.
If you are able to see discolored patches that means that it is damped. That will be a huge indicator that the house has problem with dampness. Will it be worth calling for an expert to deal with the water damages? Be sure that you check the problems before you hire a repair man, see if the extent of the damage is cheap or easy to fix and if it is not that easy, people suggest you to avoid buying those kind of houses. You do not want to pay extra for the problems that the previous owner did. Damp can result to a lot of problems that might have other underlying issues that you might not want to deal with.
Be sure that the walls are not leaning.
When house hunting, you have to quick about checking different details, you might not notice that the house is already filled with sloping walls and that will be pretty dangerous, it might collapse.
If you want the house, you can check if the repair is easy enough but sometimes it might be too much so it would be better to avoid buying homes that have sloping walls because you might be spending too much on the repairs.
Never buy a home that will need a lot of repairs, it will only make your budget greater and you will never want that s make sure that you will never leave a stone unturned so that you can be ensured that the house you have chosen is actually legit and the repairs are minimal so you will not spend too much.
